Geoffrey W. Mangum is a shareholder and chair of the Corporate and Tax department, where he concentrates his practice on corporate, commercial and real estate law, with an emphasis on negotiating and structuring complex business and real estate transactions. Mr. Mangum has also advised a variety of companies on co-branding identity issues, including co-branded credit and loyalty card programs and cross-marketing agreements.

Until its acquisition by Albertson's, Inc., Mr. Mangum was vice president of Corporate Transactions for American Stores Company, a Fortune 400 Company, responsible for business unit acquisitions and dispositions. As legal counsel to the company's treasury department, Mr. Mangum was also involved in negotiating and documenting complex financing arrangements. Prior to joining American Stores Company, he was a shareholder in the law firm of Prince Yeates & Geldzahler.

Mr. Mangum also has extensive experience in land use planning and development arising in part from his involvement in the development of the Town Lift Base in Park City, Utah and the preparation for development of Treasure Mountain in Park City. In connection with these and other projects, Mr. Mangum has dealt with and continues to deal with such matters as inverse condemnation and regulatory takings, master plan and subdivision issues and zoning conflicts.

Mr. Mangum frequently lectures on a wide variety of corporate and business related topics. He has also been recognized by Utah Business magazine as one of Utah's "Legal Elite," and maintains Martindale-Hubble's highest rating, an AV.

Mr. Mangum graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah in 1976 with a B.A. in economics and received his juris doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C.
