In a two-step election process, Parsons Behle & Latimer attorney Gabe A. Davis was elected to become a member of the Board of Directors of the Idaho Falls Symphony. He will serve a three-year term as board member. As a member of the Symphony's finance committee, Davis will be instrumental in reviewing Bylaws and contracts and providing general legal advice.

Davis is a skilled musician himself, having played the violin since he was 10 years old. He stayed active in music as part of a traveling orchestra, comprised of four violinists, who played public and private events.

"The Arts are necessary for society – especially in smaller towns. Even though in the current economy people have fewer resources to enjoy the Arts, it is incredibly important to keep them going. And it is important to experience what is going on around us in the community – the Idaho Falls Symphony is definitely a part of that," Davis says. "Some people don't expect much from a symphony in a city of this size, but our symphony is amazing – the "real deal." I have lived in other cities, including Chicago, and our symphony is competitive. I would love people from around the country to experience our performances and see what we have here in Idaho Falls."
