Assisting Clients with All Electricity-Related Matters
The attorneys at Parsons Behle & Latimer handle electricity cases in both regulated and de-regulated environments.
The attorneys at Parsons Behle & Latimer regularly assist mining, manufacturing, and commercial entities as well as municipalities, power associations, independent power producers, transmission developers, renewable, and co-generation entities in developing and acquiring electricity and the associated infrastructure.
In regulated environments, we represent clients in rate cases, rulemakings, certificate proceedings, and investigations. We also seek and obtain favorable tariff and rate schedule terms and conditions, and we defend against rate increases and obtain rate decreases for municipal, industrial, and commercial electricity customers.
In de-regulated environments, we assist clients with purchasing commodity, hedging, and FERC reporting.
Additionally, we negotiate power supply and infrastructure construction and development agreements, including distribution, transmission, and interconnection agreements. We also deal with issues for customers entering power purchasing markets and negotiate terms and conditions relating to co-generation projects.
We represent a wide range of clients in the electricity industry, including industries and suppliers in civil and criminal investigations before municipal councils, agencies, and other governmental bodies. We also litigate electric supply contracts and defend against stray voltage claims.
