Parsons Behle & Latimer’s Employment Law practice group has extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and litigating employment contracts and executive compensation. We work with many clients to address issues such as employee versus independent contractor status, exempt versus nonexempt status, at-will status, termination for cause clauses, leave policies, compensation and bonuses, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and many other issues that arise with employment contracts.
When needed, we work closely with our Corporate Law practice group to cover areas that overlap employment and corporate law such as stock options, bonus and change of control plans, equity incentive plans, and deferred compensation (Internal Revenue Code 409A issues).
We have prepared employment agreements for many types of employees including top-level executives, health care employees, industrial employees, mining employees, independent contractors, and exempt employees.
We have also litigated many cases involving claims of breach of employment contracts, breach of non-compete and confidentiality agreements, and wage claims.
