FMLA & Leave Issues
Experienced counsel with FMLA and Leave Law
Parsons' Employment Law Department is well-versed with the FMLA and can provide sound counsel to employers.
The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a labor law that ensures that employees do not lose their jobs because they take medical leave to care for themselves or their family members. The FMLA allows qualified employees of qualified employers to take up to 12 weeks of time off from work during a 12 month period.
Qualified employers are required to have an FMLA policy that complies with the law. Qualified employers are prohibited from taking adverse action against an employee because he or she has taken leave under the FMLA. Our experienced team of attorneys assists employers in complying with the FMLA and defending administrative and judicial claims arising from them.
