Alex B. Leeman is a shareholder in the firm’s Litigation, Trials & Appeals department.

General Business Litigation\Employment Law:

Much of Mr. Leeman’s practice involves general business litigation for individuals and Utah businesses of all sizes.  He has experience with a range of employment matters, including challenging and defending employment non-compete agreements and claims involving misappropriation of trade secrets, as well as defending against wrongful termination and discrimination claims.  Mr. Leeman has also litigated the break-up of business entities and has assisted clients with leases (including evictions), service contracts, trademarks, construction defects, and real estate agreements.

Land Use:

Mr. Leeman has assisted property developers and other landowners with an array of land use issues, including development agreements and applications, zoning issues, conditional use permits, and annexations.  Having served on a municipal planning commission and city council, Mr. Leeman has insight into the concerns of governmental officials and elected representatives and is able to assist clients with navigating the municipal approval process.  Mr. Leeman has also been involved in eminent domain litigation on behalf of both the landowner and the condemning authority.


Mr. Leeman has represented Utah attorneys in disciplinary matters before the Utah State Bar and Utah Supreme Court, and has defended attorneys and law firms against malpractice and FDCPA claims.  Mr. Leeman has also defended medical professionals against malpractice claims and assisted with pre-litigation proceedings before the Utah Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

Financial Institutions\Collections:

Mr. Leeman has significant experience representing creditors’ interests in complex civil litigation and recovery of high-value and secured special assets.  His expertise includes foreclosure and repossession of collateral, collecting deficiency claims, and defending creditors and collectors from counterclaims.

Mr. Leeman began is legal career as an attorney at Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy, where he practiced from 2009 to 2015.  He was a shareholder at Prince, Yeates & Geldzahler from 2016 to 2019 before moving his practice to Parsons Behle & Latimer.

During law school, Mr. Leeman was an extern to Hon. Sarah Evans Barker, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and a judicial clerk to Hon. Marc R. Kellams, Monroe County Indiana Circuit Court, Division II.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Leeman was the Business & Operations Manager of the Entertainment Division at Lagoon Amusement Park for four years.
