At Parsons Behle & Latimer, we recognize that we are only as strong as the communities around us. Which is why serving and enhancing our communities and those with whom we work and live is more than a responsibility: it is a core value. It is who we are.
Parsons Behle & Latimer's attorneys and professional staff are known for building enduring, responsive relationships with our clients. We bring that same level of dedication to our communities. We celebrate and support diversity within our communities and endeavor to create an inclusive environment within the firm. Parsons’ attorneys and professional staff support dozens of nonprofit organizations throughout the Intermountain West by contributing volunteer board service, mentoring, pro bono legal services and significant financial contributions. We strive to make a positive impact on the communities that have been such an important part of our success.
As we have watched protests across the country and world, Parsons Behle & Latimer has recommitted itself to the opposition of racism and the promotion of equal opportunity. We want to be part of the solution. We are listening and learning. As an institution, we want to be part of the conversation about sustainable change. We are committed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in our firm and our communities.
HOW WE'RE GETTING THERE
Our efforts are focused in the key areas of education; community involvement; and equitable access to legal services for all populations. To guide these efforts, our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion steering committee, comprised of a diverse group of attorneys and professional staff, and led by shareholder Christina M. Jepson, ensure Parsons' policies and practices equitably address the needs of all employees and the communities we serve.
We are a cofounding member and financial investor of the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion (UCLI) and, in 2020, achieved UCLI certification. Our partnership with UCLI provides the firm training and the necessary tools to address existing and future hiring and retention as well as advancement and inclusion challenges for women and other diverse attorneys and professional staff.
Since 1882, Parsons Behle & Latimer has partnered with businesses and individuals in our communities to anticipate and respond to the needs of our neighbors.
We are privileged to partner with a range of diverse organizations where we can lend our professional time, skills and financial assistance to help support the people of our communities. Some of our partners include:
