Alex N. Vandiver

Alex Vandiver is a member of the Litigation, Trials & Appeals and the Environmental & Natural Resources practice groups at Parsons Behle & Latimer. Alex focuses her practice in the areas of commercial, civil, and environmental litigation.

Alex earned her Juris Doctorate and Certificate of Specialized Study in Environmental and Natural Resource Law from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah.

During law school, Alex was a Pro Bono Initiative Fellow, overseeing and managing several clinics that provided free brief legal consultation to low-income communities throughout the Salt Lake valley. Alex served as an Executive Footnote Editor for the Utah Law Review and a Representative for the Minority Law Caucus. Alex went on to represent the College of Law in the West Virginia University Energy and Sustainability Moot Court, placing in the quarter finals. 

Alex was also a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Diana Hagen of the Utah Court of Appeals. Alex worked as a law clerk for the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Solicitor and Utah Legal Services’ Specialized Unit for Migrant Farm Workers. Through these experiences, Alex gained significant insight into Utah’s appellate process as well as practicable implementations of state and Federal administrative law.

Prior to law school, Alex taught as an Adjunct Professor at the Salt Lake Community College. There, Alex advanced her skills in analytical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication. Alex now uses these skills in her trial advocacy.

Alex is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Brazilian Portuguese.
