Kerry L. Owens
Kerry Owens is a shareholder in the firm's Real Estate and Finance Department. He concentrates his practice in transactions involving real estate purchase, sale, development, zoning and permitting, financing , and leasing.
Mr. Owens has been lead real estate counsel for numerous utility-scale renewable energy projects on private, state and federal lands including site evaluation, leasing, easements, permitting, development, disposition, financing, reserved minerals and title matters.
Mr. Owens regularly advises clients in connection with the purchase and sale of different types of real property, including commercial buildings, industrial properties, residential developments, and unimproved land. He represents both tenants and landlords in connection with the negotiation and documentation of commercial leases.
Mr. Owens’ has extensive experience in a broad range of land use and regulatory matters, including zoning, real estate and natural resources, infrastructure and development. He regularly represents developers in obtaining entitlements from local governments. Mr. Owens also represents property owners in the negotiation, siting and acquisition of commercial, industrial and residential developments; obtaining water rights, utilities and rights of way; resolution of title defects and disputes; and advising on sales of properties ranging from single parcels to large, multi-phased and multi-use developments.
