Bill Evans has 30 years of intellectual property experience.  He has served as legal counsel for literary authors and publishers, visual and performing artists, music composers and producers, and software developers, as well as educational, governmental and financial institutions.  Mr. Evans assists his clients in domestic and international transactions relating primarily to copyrights and rights of publicity. His litigation experience includes matters of copyright and trademark infringement, misappropriation of rights of publicity, unfair competition, and arts-related business disputes.  Mr. Evans served for four years as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he taught a course in intellectual property licensing.

In his energy and utility law practice, Mr. Evans represents clients in regulatory matters involving electric and telecommunications utilities. He has practiced before Public Service Commissions in Utah and Nevada and before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in adjudicative and rulemaking proceedings involving the development of renewable energy resources, public utility rates, interconnection agreements, power purchase and supply contracts, qualifying facility power purchase contracts, certificates of public convenience and necessity, pole attachments, small cell facility placement, and other state and federal regulatory compliance matters. He has also been active in developing and advocating legislative solutions for the firm’s energy and utility clients and is a registered lobbyist in the state of Utah.
