Zachary S. Shea is an associate in the Litigation, Trials and Appeals practice group who joins Parsons Behle & Latimer after years of experience advising entertainment industry clients in Los Angeles. His experience includes negotiating and drafting entertainment-related transactions like intellectual property sales and licenses; motion picture production and distribution agreements; talent and key crew attachment deals as well as formation of entertainment businesses and intellectual property holding companies. Mr. Shea is a northern Nevada native who enjoys practicing law in his home state to benefit local businesses and advocate for the community of creative professionals and businesses growing throughout the West.

While attending the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law in State College, Penn, Mr. Shea excelled at entertainment and intellectual property studies. He served as the Chief Student Associate at the Penn State Arts, Sports and Entertainment Law Clinic.

Mr. Shea served as a judicial extern for Chief Judge Beesley and Senior Judge Zive of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada. He was one of only two legal and business affairs interns in the Office of the Executive Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs/General Counsel for Sony Corporation of America in New York.

Prior to his call to the practice of law, Mr. Shea was an accomplished pianist, conductor and film composer, having received both a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies, and a Master of Music in Composition. He penned the scores for more than 10 short films and one feature-length film; composed more than 150 original songs spanning all genres as well as conducted studio orchestras and produced recording sessions, live shows and television in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
