Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons) is pleased to announce that Liz M. Mellem, managing shareholder of Parson’s Missoula and Helena offices, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Missoula Economic Partnership (MEP). Mellem focuses her practice in the areas of employment litigation and counseling, and complex commercial litigation. She is licensed in both Montana and Utah. She will serve as a board member for MEP for the coming three years.
“The Missoula Economic Partnership is an important and dynamic organization focused on advancing economic development priorities for the broader Missoula business community and its residents. I am excited and honored to have been chosen to be a part of the MEP board of directors and to work alongside these talented professionals to help MEP achieve its strategic goals of supporting people, businesses and sustainable growth,” says Mellem.
MEP works to expand prosperity and improve quality of life by engaging in strategic business development, creating pathways for people to realize their potential, and fostering its culture of diversity and innovation. Some of Mellem’s responsibilities as a board member will be to keep the organization informed of trends in key sectors of the economy, help businesses or groups in the community to connect with the resources available at MEP, oversee the governance of the organization and ensure that the mission is delivered as efficiently as possible across the community.
According to MEP CEO and President Grant Kier, Mellem was selected based on her leadership role in the community and complimenting the experience, strengths and professional perspectives of the existing members of the Board. “MEP values a diverse set of professional leadership perspectives to help guide the mission and purpose of the organization,” Kier says. “Liz has been a valuable resource for our team and our investors and we’re looking forward to her contribution as a board member.”
