After its successful emergence from a year of pandemic-related challenges, Parsons Behle & Latimer’s (Parsons) Board of Directors is positioning the firm for 2021 with strategic leadership changes that include the promotion of Parsons attorney Cory D. Sinclair to firm president.

Since April 2019, Sinclair has served as the firm’s general counsel and chief operating officer (COO) under the direction of Hal J. Pos, Parsons’ president and chief executive officer. At the end of 2020, after 25 years of tremendously successful leadership, Pos announced his intention to step down from office, opening the way for several firm leadership changes, including Sinclair’s promotion.

A tenured shareholder of the firm, Sinclair also holds a Ph.D. in economics and has provided strategic financial and business guidance to Parsons’ Board of Directors for the past two years. Prior to his transition to these administrative leadership roles, Sinclair led the firm’s Antitrust and Competition practice group. His practice focused on client representation in antitrust cases and complex commercial cases and consumer and employment class actions.

Sinclair says, “It is an honor to take on this new role with the firm. I had the privilege of working closely with our former president Hal Pos, and I will strive to live up the high standard that he and other former presidents have set. Our firm is well positioned for continued success, thanks to our outstanding lawyers, dedicated Board of Directors, talented management team and remarkable staff.”

In addition to his work at the firm, Sinclair is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Utah where he teaches law and economics to undergraduate and graduate economic students. He also teaches antitrust law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. Sinclair previously served as president of the Antitrust and Unfair Competition Section of the Utah State Bar and currently serves as treasurer on the Board of Trustees for The McGillis School in Salt Lake City.
