Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons), a preeminent law firm in the Intermountain West, has opened its 10th office location by combining with the Jackson law firm of Ranck & Schwartz. Joining Parsons are local Jackson attorneys Leah C. Schwartz and William (Bill) P. Schwartz of Ranck & Schwartz, a family-owned law firm whose partners have represented Wyomingites in Teton county and beyond over the span of three generations.

Parsons’ new office is located in Jackson, Wyoming, and makes Parsons one of the fastest growing law firms in the Intermountain Region. Over the past five years, Parsons has expanded the firm by five offices throughout the Intermountain West.

Leah Schwartz will serve as Parsons’ Jackson office managing shareholder. She says, “We’re excited to be part of bringing Parsons to Wyoming. The firm has a long history of providing top-notch legal assistance across the Intermountain West in a myriad of practice areas—from litigation to transactional work to corporate governance and intellectual property. Our goal is to better serve our clients who will now benefit from Parsons’ considerable legal resources and talent.”

Leah works with a broad range of corporate and individual clients to resolve civil disputes inside and outside the courtroom. She has extensive experience appearing before federal and state courts and administrative agencies at both the trial and appellate levels. Her clients include for- and non-profit businesses, landowners, employers and professionals. Leah’s work extends across Wyoming and beyond.

Bill Schwartz has decades of experience litigating and resolving civil disputes of every kind. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of cases involving complex business, real estate, family and constitutional issues. In addition to his litigation practice, Bill has significant real estate transactional experience and has devoted a substantial portion of his career working with non-profit organizations as an advocate, advisor and board leader. Bill has completed intensive conflict resolution training and is available to mediate in selected cases. He says, “I started my law practice in Salt Lake City in 1984. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with and watch Parson’s lawyers in a variety of different contexts, and I know from my own experience that they are simply outstanding. While our family has long enjoyed the benefits of operating our small law firm, our capabilities and depth have always been necessarily limited. We are grateful and excited for this new opportunity to become part of one the premier firms in the region by opening Parson’s first Wyoming office in Jackson.”

Parsons’ CEO and Chairperson Shawn C. Ferrin, says, “We are extremely pleased to have the talented Jackson legal team of Bill and Leah Schwartz join us at Parsons. The deep relationships and tenure of service the Ranck and Schwartz families have developed in Jackson and beyond as well as their dedication to community involvement is a perfect complement to Parsons’ rich history of consistently delivering on client needs and on our core value of service. Leah and Bill’s local knowledge, experience and skill representing Wyoming clients further enriches the depth and quality of legal service Parsons offers its clients across the Intermountain West.”
