Alex Leeman is a shareholder in the commercial litigation practice group at Parsons Behle & Latimer where his practice focuses on business and employment litigation, real estate disputes and professional malpractice defense. Mr. Leeman seeks to solve problems and deliver value to clients while vigorously defending their interests.

Biography

In the business and employment sectors, Mr. Leeman frequently advises clients about how to protect their valuable business information and goodwill. He has successfully litigated trade secret misappropriation claims and both challenged and defended employment noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements. Mr. Leeman has also litigated disputes between owners of closely-held companies, including the break-up of business entities.

Mr. Leeman has extensive experience with a wide range of real estate issues, including access and land use disputes; leases; title exceptions and title insurance claims; and construction defect cases. He has been involved in eminent domain litigation on behalf of both the landowner and the condemning authority.

Mr. Leeman represents Utah attorneys in disciplinary matters before the Utah State Bar and Utah Supreme Court and has defended attorneys and law firms against malpractice and FDCPA claims. Mr. Leeman has also defended other professionals involved in malpractice and administrative disciplinary matters.

Alongside his litigation practice, Mr. Leeman serves as general counsel to Parsons Behle & Latimer, where he advises the firm and its attorneys on ethics and compliance issues. Mr. Leeman has presented dozens of continuing education seminars on legal ethics and professional conduct, employment law and general litigation topics.

Successfully defended clients in evidentiary hearing on a preliminary injunction from claims of misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, trademark infringement, embezzlement, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference and conspiracy.

Armstrong v. Sabin, Case No. 2:20-cv-261-TS-DAO, United States District Court, District of Utah

Defended clients in judicial dissolution case, and obtained favorable valuation for minority shareholder that allowed her to obtain sole ownership of the company.

Fintech Lending Fees

Represented client in a master service agreement with a major national bank for bank liability to client for fees.
