Biography

Emily D. Holt is chairperson of the Banking & Finance practice team at Parsons Behle & Latimer. Emily concentrates her practice on commercial banking, and debt and equity financing. Emily represents national, regional and industrial banks, and other types of lenders and corporate borrowers in a wide array of lending transactions, including syndicated transactions, acquisition finance, construction and real estate loans, and mezzanine transactions.

Before attending law school, Emily graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She received her MBA degree from the University of Utah and was a small business owner.

Emily received her JD degree from the University of Utah, graduating with high honors. While attending law school, Emily served as a judicial intern for the U.S. District Court, District of Utah and as a volunteer for several pro bono legal clinics. She was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2013 and the Nevada State Bar in 2014.

In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors and traveling.

Parsons Represents Blue Coolers in its Acquisition of Caddis Sports

Parsons Behle & Latimer advised Blue Coolers on its purchase of Caddis Sports Inc., a legacy outdoor and fishing equipment brand. The Parsons team was led by Adam Ott and Bruce White with assistance from Hunter Johnson. Emily Holt and Lauren Reber also advised on the transaction. 

Breach of Fiduciary Duties

Represented five beneficiaries in a jury trial who sued two Trustees for breaches of fiduciary duties. Clients were awarded damages, then won a post-trial motion to remove the former Trustees. 

Borrower’s Counsel for Nonprofit $30M Loan

Represented non-profit home builder as borrower’s counsel for a $30M term loan from three Utah chartered industrial banks.
