Prior to joining Parsons Behle & Latimer, Ethan served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lawrence VanDyke of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, for the Honorable Laura Taylor Swain, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and for the Honorable Victor J. Wolski of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Between clerkships, Ethan also worked as an associate at a boutique litigation firm in Virginia. He concentrated his practice on government contracts and construction litigation, assisting clients in response to government-mandated contract changes, navigating Miller Act claims and developing litigation strategies in the event of a future contractual breach.
Ethan began his career as a Legal Fellow in the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary where he assisted senators in conducting investigations and judicial confirmation hearings, drafting proposed legislation and preparing for hearings addressing sophisticated sectors of the economy.
In 2017, Ethan received a J.D. and M.A. in History from the University of Virginia, where he won the law school’s Roger and Madeleine Traynor Prize for best written work. He also served as president of the school’s Jessup International Moot Court Team and as a submissions editor for the Journal of Law & Politics. He received his B.A. in Government from Patrick Henry College, graduating summa cum laude with high honors.
Ethan grew up in Reno and now lives in Sparks with his wife. He enjoys hiking, beekeeping, brewing pour-over coffee and making bread.
