Parsons Behle & Latimer is seeking a Transactional and Regulatory Legal Assistant in our Reno, Nevada office. The ideal candidate will have the skill set to manage multiple projects, prioritize and execute them; a strong work ethic; experience working with Microsoft Office Suite; careful attention to detail; and excellent organizational and communication skills. 3-5+ years of legal secretarial experience is required, knowledge of transactional, environmental, water, natural resources and public utility law is a bonus.

Responsibilities include supporting attorneys and paralegals with administrative tasks, running conflicts checks, answering phones, scheduling meetings, and providing backup legal assistance for the firm, if needed. This is a full-time in-office non-exempt position, hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. The minimum annual salary is $70,000 and is negotiable commensurate with experience. 

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Prepare, proofread, and finalize legal documents, contracts, and regulatory filings
  • Manage deadlines and coordinate document submissions to government agencies and regulatory bodies
  • Assist with corporate filings, entity formation, licensing, and renewals
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic files
  • Track regulatory updates as needed
  • Familiarity with corporate, regulatory, and administrative procedures is a plus
  • Support attorneys and paralegals with client-facing tasks
  • 3-5+ years of legal assistant experience is required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, prioritize, and execute efficiently
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite, and cloud-based software
  • Experience with filing in state and/or federal courts preferred
  • Excellent written communication skills including drafting transactional and corporate documents, correspondence with regulators and quasi-judicial bodies, pleadings, motions, letters and other documents as required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; must be courteous on the phone and in-person with co-workers plus existing and potential clients
  • Reliable, independent worker with minimal supervision; can also collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills, including calendaring, entering billable time, reviewing and revising client invoices for mailing, assistance managing attorney priorities, and coordination across in-person and remote teams
