Today, Parsons Behle & Latimer’s (Parsons) international corporate attorney Barbara Bagnasacco was honored as “International Woman of the Year 2022” by the World Trade Association of Utah. The award will be presented to Bagnasacco at a prestigious award ceremony during the Women in International Business Conference, held at O.C. Tanner.
“It is my pleasure and distinct honor to receive this recognition from the World Trade Association,” she says. “The law has the power to facilitate, support and protect companies engaged in international business. My practice allows me to assist businesses operating globally and to work with people from around the world. The art of negotiation supports bringing people together to complete deals, create new jobs, and affirm common values and has always had the potential of creating a meaningful impact on society.”
A member of Parsons’ Corporate practice team, Bagnasacco possesses extensive experience with domestic and international mergers and acquisitions and transactions; joint ventures; strategic alliances; foreign direct investment; market entry strategies and more. She says she hopes the recognition she is receiving from the World Trade Association will motivate young women to pursue their interest in international business and turn it into a successful career. She also encourages the more established businesspeople in Utah to actively engage with Utah’s talented businesswomen to support their endeavors.
Bagnasacco says having a strong international network is crucial for success when conducting business in foreign countries, particularly for women who may find additional barriers in doing business in certain parts of the world. The World Trade Association’s Women in International Business forum is a prime example of how important it is to create a forum in which women who are engaged in international business can come together to connect, learn, mentor and be mentored, she says. “This is how we can nurture new talent and successfully grow our community – with a renewed commitment to diversity and inclusion,” says Bagnasacco.
“We are extremely pleased to see Barbara receive this recognition,” says Cory Sinclair, Parsons Behle & Latimer’s president. “Barbara’s depth of knowledge and legal prowess in international business is extraordinary. She is richly deserving of this award.”
