Parsons Behle & Latimer Obtains Preliminary Injunction Enjoining Former Executive from Breaching Nonsolicitation Agreement
On July 31, 2021, in a hotly-contested international arbitration proceeding, Parsons obtained a preliminary injunction enjoining a former executive of a direct selling company from attempting to convert the customers of his prior employer to join a competing direct selling company.
Represented two companies in separate transactions to acquire the rights to demolish, salvage and sell the salvaged materials from Brownfield sites in the state of Texas.
Represented Barrick Gold Corporation in Joint Venture with Newmont Goldcorp Corporation, Creating the World’s Third-Largest Gold Mining Company, Nevada Gold Mines LLC
Provided U.S. structure and document drafting to Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg (Toronto) in formation of joint venture. Lead counsel in U.S. implementation of the Venture including extensive and complex environmental permitting. Special Note: The Venture is expected to generate approximately $5 billion pre-tax net present value over a 20-year period. The Venture includes Barrick’s Goldstrike, Cortez, Turquoise Ridge and Goldrush mines and Newmont’s Carlin, Twin Creeks, Phoenix and Long Canyon mines along with associated processing plants, power generation facilities and infrastructure of both companies.
