During the month of May, attorneys and staff of Parsons Behle & Latimer’s (Parsons’) Boise office enthusiastically heeded a call for help from shareholder Jason R. Mau to raise cash and non-perishable food donations for The Salvation Army Boise Corps’ food pantry and food box program. Mau is currently The Salvation Army Boise Corps’ Board chairperson. Team members donated throughout the month, leading up to the May 17 “Day-to-Donate.”

According to Mau, over the past two years, the organization has seen a substantial increase in the number of families with a need for food. Currently, nearly 100 additional households per month are requesting assistance. Mau says that on average, The Boise Salvation Army Corps has provided food boxes for about 650 households per month, or about 1,200 people, but recently, the demand for food boxes has outpaced donations, even with several grants having been received by the organization. “The Salvation Army has prided itself as being a safety net for working families that just need some help to get back on their feet,” he says. He encouraged coworkers to give generously during the campaign.

Parsons Boise office is pleased to announce that substantial food and cash donations were raised. Mau says, “Special thanks to all of those in the Boise office who donated food or money to the Salvation Army’s Day-to-Donate Food Drive. I am so thankful for Parsons’ outpouring of support for the local community, especially here in the Boise office. Within days of describing the local demand for food that is being met locally by the Salvation Army, the office came together and quickly filled the donation bin with the requested items of food or reached out to ask how they could donate. I could not have asked for a better response! Thank you,” he says.
