Parsons Behle & Latimer is pleased to announce that Payton Hampton an attorney in the firm’s Idaho Falls office has been elected president of the Seventh District Bar Association for the 2025-2026 term. His term began April 1, 2025, and will run through March 31, 2026.

Hampton says, “I am excited to serve as president of the Seventh District Bar. The Seventh District has many bright legal minds and wisdom that we need to pass around through the familiarity of the Bar members. I hope to strengthen the collegiality and professionalism of the bar through my service.”

Diverse experience enables Hampton to focus his practice in a range of legal disciplines, including business and commercial litigation, water rights, healthcare and real estate litigation. Since joining Parsons’ attorney bench, Hampton has worked extensively in water right permitting, maintenance, transfers and contracting as well as navigated the water right adjudication processes in the State of Idaho. As an experienced litigator, he has represented clients in litigation and administrative proceedings for related land use, easement and encroachment issues.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Hampton worked as a wildland firefighter on the Logan (Utah) Interagency Hotshot Crew, fighting fires throughout Western states, Alaska and Canada. An avid outdoorsman, Hampton enjoys fly fishing and skiing. He is proficient in written and spoken Finnish.
