Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons) is pleased to announce that Peter J. Ott has joined the firm’s banking and financial services practice in Salt Lake City office as of counsel, bringing significant experience in debt financing transactions.

“I’m excited to be working with people I’ve long admired here at Parsons Behle & Latimer. The corporate practice is dynamic and growing and I’m excited to help contribute to that with wide-ranging banking and finance experience,” says Ott. “Clients can expect to receive high level corporate and finance expertise from the firm as the team members work together to provide service that is greater than the sum of its parts. I have no doubt that I’ll be able to plug into this ecosystem and help clients deal with complicated financing needs in the ever-evolving macroeconomic climate we’re in. I am looking forward to working with clients in the Utah business market to help them achieve their goals and pursue expanding opportunities.”

Ott focuses his practice on advising lenders and borrowers in a broad spectrum of debt financing transactions, including secured and unsecured financings; senior and subordinated debt; acquisition financings; leveraged loans; revolving facilities; asset-based financings; as well as debt restructurings and workouts.

“Peter’s addition strengthens our ability to provide comprehensive financial legal services to our clients,” said Shawn C. Ferrin, Parsons’ CEO and chairperson. “His extensive experience in complex financing arrangements will be invaluable to businesses navigating today's financial landscape.”

Before joining Parsons, Ott practiced at Kirkland & Ellis, where he represented private equity sponsors, private credit lenders, and both public and private companies in complex debt finance matters. He also practiced for several years at Dorsey & Whitney in Salt Lake City and White & Case in Washington, D.C. and Miami, Florida.

Ott earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and holds a B.A. in both Political Science and Economics from the University of Utah, graduating magna cum laude. He is admitted to practice in Utah and the District of Columbia.

With Ott's addition, Parsons Behle & Latimer continues to expand its depth of expertise in its banking and financial services and corporate practices, helping clients navigate complex financing transactions. To learn more about Ott and for contact information, click here
