Mike Welker is a civil trial attorney with decades of experience handling cases in Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. He works on a contingency fee basis for personal injury and wrongful death claimants with claims arising from semi-truck collisions, car collisions, hazardous conditions on commercial property and dog attacks. He also has an abundance of experience handling medical, hospital and nursing home negligence cases on a contingency fee basis. He has handled business and commercial tort, misconduct, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty cases for both plaintiffs and defendants. Mike Welker is a shareholder at Parsons Behle & Latimer, based in the firm’s St. George, Utah, office. A civil litigator who is licensed in Utah, Nevada, and Arizona, Mike handles cases in both state and federal courts. He has briefed and argued cases before the Utah Supreme Court and the Nevada Supreme Court. 

Mike began his legal career in Phoenix in 1994 and then, in late 1995, relocated to beautiful St. George. Before joining Parsons Behle & Latimer, Mike served as a partner in one of St. George’s oldest and most accomplished law firms for 28 years and also founded a Las Vegas branch office that quickly established a strong reputation for trial advocacy.

Mike’s career includes many notable results for his clients. For example, in 2015 he obtained a $5 million settlement for a man severely injured in a semi-truck collision in Utah; in 2012 he obtained a $1.7 million settlement for a child who was born prematurely following a semi-truck collision in Nevada; and he has obtained many other recoveries over $1 million for various personal injury and wrongful death clients via trial and mediation. In 2010, in a Nevada complex commercial matter, Mike successfully defended a mortgage business owner over allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty in hundreds of real estate transactions totaling tens of millions of dollars.

Recognized for his civil litigation skills, Mike has been asked by many other attorneys to co-counsel personal injury and medical malpractice cases in multiple jurisdictions. He has presented at multiple CLE courses on the subjects of personal injury and civil litigation. Mike has been recognized as a top 100 civil litigator in Nevada by the American Society of Legal Advocates. His personal injury practice was voted “Best of Southern Utah” by the local populace four years in a row.
