Paul Veasy has extensive litigation experience in federal and state courts. His practice specializes in the areas of commercial litigation, representing businesses and financial institutions; water rights litigation; real property litigation; and probate litigation. Paul has successfully argued over twenty appeals before the Utah Supreme Court and the Utah Court of Appeals.

Paul Veasy is a shareholder in Parsons Behle & Latimer’s Litigation practice group. He served as chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group from 1999 until 2014.

Mr. Veasy is a member of the Idaho State Bar, Utah State Bar, American Bar Association and the Salt Lake County Bar. Mr. Veasy is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Banking Law and Commercial Litigation and maintains Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating, an AV®. He continues to be recognized by Utah Business Magazine as one of Utah’s “Legal Elite” and has been selected for inclusion in Mountain States Super Lawyers and Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition for business litigation.

Mr. Veasy was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in 1980 and the Utah State Bar in 1983. He joined the litigation department of Parsons Behle & Latimer in 1989.

Breach of Commercial Real Estate Lease

Obtained nearly $60 million judgment representing landlord in counterclaim against tenant involving properties in Utah, Oregon and California.

Dwayne Johnson et al. v. Highlands Water Company (2021 Morgan County, Utah)

Water contract dispute successfully argued at the trial court and settled in mediation.

Estate of Edith T. Roberson (Unpublished September 26, 2019 Order of Affirmance, Utah Court of Appeals)

This was a probate dispute between siblings over inheritance rights under the decedent’s Will and Trust. The decedent was a Utah artist. The dispute was successfully argued at trial, in the Utah Court of Appeals and at the Utah Supreme Court.
