Biography

Scott P. Eskelson is a member of Parsons Behle & Latimer’s Corporate practice team and focuses his practice primarily in the areas of estate planning and probate; preparation of wills, trusts and other estate transfer documents; and succession planning. Mr. Eskelson also focuses on large real estate and business transactional matters, including preparation and negotiation of contracts, creation of documents to establish, merge or terminate all types of business entities as well as buy/sell-type agreements among business owners.

Prior to joining Parsons, Mr. Eskelson cofounded Idaho Falls law firm Martin & Eskelson in 2000 with his partner Stephen E. Martin and was a member of the firm until Mr. Martin’s untimely passing in December 2021. Prior to forming his own law firm, Mr. Eskelson practiced for 17 years at Petersen, Moss & Olsen in Idaho Falls, Ida.  

Following law school, Mr. Eskelson relocated to Sun City, Ariz. and worked as assistant general counsel, primarily in transactional and real estate matters, with Del E. Webb Corporation for Del E. Webb’s largest subsidiary Del E. Webb Development Company. After two years, he transferred to the downtown parent corporation office.

When not busy practicing law, Mr. Eskelson enjoys skiing, fly fishing, and car and motorcycle racing. He also enjoys all types of outdoor activities with his family, including hiking, camping and mountain biking. He lives with his wife in Ammon, Ida. Together, they have six adult children.
