Adam Ott is an associate in the firm, practicing in all aspects of corporate and securities law. He routinely represents businesses in a wide range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, complex transactions, capital formation efforts, reorganizations, contract matters, corporate financings and a variety of other general transactional and business matters. Adam also frequently represents businesses seeking to issue securities and has helped both form and counsel numerous venture capital funds, private equity funds, hedge funds and startup incubators. While the bulk of Adam’s practice is rooted in transactions, he has also successfully represented and obtained favorable results for clients ranging from multinational corporations to individuals and small businesses in a variety of formal disputes and litigation matters, including matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA,) and other regulatory bodies.

Prior to joining the firm, Adam practiced at a boutique transaction and securities law firm where he gained substantial experience in the legal representation of young private companies. He completed a nine-month Honors Program placement with the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, located in Salt Lake City where he helped conduct numerous complex government investigations of securities issuers. Adam also previously worked as a law clerk for the Senate Judiciary and Senate Commerce Committees in Washington D.C., focusing specifically on the Antitrust, Competition Policy, Consumer Rights, Technology, Innovation, and Internet subcommittees. During law school, he worked as an extern for Judge David Sam at the Federal District Court for the District of Utah.

Adam received both his graduate and undergraduate degrees from Brigham Young University, where he was one of few students ever invited to attend law school while simultaneously finishing his undergraduate studies. While attending law school, Adam contributed to several works of legal scholarship, including several publications with Oxford University Press. He was also initiated into the international legal honor society Phi Delta Phi and received the J. Reuben Clark Public Interest Service Award in recognition of his pro bono efforts throughout the course of law school.
