In 1882, Parsons Behle & Latimer was founded as a mining law firm, and for the past 130 years, we have partnered with hard rock mining clients in the U.S., Canada, Central and South America to guide them through every aspect of some of the largest mining transactions ever completed.

Parsons’ Mining attorneys create solid, long-term relationships with national and international mining clients to become a solid partner through every phase of a project from exploration to closure and reclamation. Clients gain exceptional efficiencies from our multidisciplinary teams that provide every mining-related service including environmental and energy law, EPCM, financing, corporate transactions and M&A, real estate, government relations, litigation and employment and labor law.

U.S. Mining Law Handbook

The Mining Law Short Course Handbook is a comprehensive overview of mining laws in the United States relating to the acquisition, exploration, development, operation and closure of hard rock mining projects. For several years, Parsons has partnered with the American Exploration and Mining Association and the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada to present the Handbook in the form of a full-day short course at each association’s annual convention. To view Parsons attorneys’ U.S. Mining Law Short-Course presentation from the 2018 American Exploration and Mining Association annual meeting, click here.
