Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons), a preeminent law firm in the Intermountain West, welcomes attorney Samantha Hawe as an associate attorney to the firm. Hawe is a member of Parsons’ nationally-recognized Environmental & Natural Resources practice team.

From regulatory affairs, contract and real estate matters to complex tort litigation, Hawe brings a broad range of experience to Parsons. As a new Parsons attorney with a background in litigation, Hawe is now shaping her practice to focus more heavily on environmental infrastructure and natural resource law. The direct link she sees between each practice area is her ability to advocate for clients, whether in the courtroom or in business negotiation settings. As a client advocate, Hawe focuses on identifying issues for clients before they become problematic and later in the process, addresses problems before they become conflicts.

“I am thrilled to be on the Parsons team,” Hawe says. “I was attracted to Parsons because of its wealth of diverse talent and community engagement.”

Hawe maintains a strong belief in community advocacy and in 2020, was a recipient of the S.J. Quinney College of Law Pro Bono Certificate. As a University of Utah law student, she volunteered at dozens of U of U pro bono initiative clinics, contributing short form legal advice in areas such as family, debtor, and immigration law. She plans to continue her work with the clinics as a Parsons attorney. Hawe says because the legal system can be arduous and often expensive for the general public, it’s important for law firms to be civically involved to help humanize attorneys and the legal process as well as provide avenues to legal assistance for people who may not have the resources otherwise.

Parsons President Cory D. Sinclair says, “Samantha is a wonderful addition to our Environmental & Natural Resources and Corporate practice teams. Parsons has a long history of attracting talented young attorneys who, over the years, have become integral members of the firm and who have contributed to the exceptional level of service our clients enjoy. We look forward to working with Samantha to grow her practice for many years to come.”

When she is not busy practicing law Hawe enjoys skiing, hiking and biking in the Wasatch.
