Pat is a member of the firm’s litigation practice where he represents corporate and individual clients in a wide range of business disputes including antitrust and unfair competition, intellectual property, government investigations and class actions. He has experience across all stages of litigation including discovery, motion practice, trial and appeal.
In his intellectual property practice, Pat regularly represents clients in patent, trademark, false advertising, copyright and trade secret litigation throughout the United States as well as opposition and cancellation proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He prides himself on providing practical and efficient advice regarding trademark and copyright protection and enforcement strategy.
Pat also represents clients in a wide variety of antitrust cases involving monopolization, exclusive dealing and health care antitrust. He has successfully represented companies and individuals before the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission in connection with merger reviews and civil antitrust investigations.
Prior to rejoining Parsons, Pat practiced at Kirkland & Ellis where he represented some of the largest companies in the world in connection with antitrust investigations, risk reduction and all stages of litigation.
Pat received his J.D. from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law, graduating Order of the Coif. While in law school, he served as an executive footnote editor on the Utah Law Review and was a member of the National Moot Court Team. Prior to his legal education, Pat received a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Redlands. He is admitted to practice in Utah and California.
