Billing Clerk | Collections Specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah

Parsons Behle & Latimer has an opening for a full-time Billing Clerk | Collections Specialist in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. The candidate should successfully manage conflicting work priorities and deadlines, and work under time-pressure to meet project schedules; urgent requests from clients/attorneys and resolve problems and develop solutions. The Billing Clerk | Collections Specialist is responsible for managing accounts receivable and recovering overdue debts owed to the firm or its clients. The Specialist will work with debtors to discuss overdue accounts, create payment plans or settle accounts fully, while always being courteous and respectful.

This Specialist will perform a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures, which may include contacting clients, reconciling accounts, preparing reports and preparing client billing. The position maintains contact with attorneys, staff, and clients and observes confidentiality of clients and firm matters.

Training Specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah

Parsons Behle & Latimer law firm has an immediate opening for a Training Specialist based in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. This is a full-time, in-office position (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), salary starting at $85,000, commensurate with experience. The candidate provides training and support for all eleven of our offices in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

The Training Specialist will design, implement, and evaluate training programs aimed at improving the skills and knowledge of employees across various departments, with an emphasis on Information Technology training. This role requires a mix of instructional design, training delivery, and analysis to ensure training initiatives align with the firm’s goals and support employees’ professional development.

The successful candidate will have high attention to detail; relevant training experience in a corporate or law firm setting; excellent organizational abilities; and superior communication skills in both one-on-one settings and in presenting to groups. The position requires 5+ years of user support experience. The candidate must be self-directed as well as work well with a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Train new and existing employees in the use of technology tools
  • Work closely with firm leadership to develop relevant and informative training for onboarding new employees as well as training existing employees
  • Assist employees with learning and improving skills on legal programs like NetDocuments or other Document Management Systems and Aderant or other Time and Billing Systems
  • Update and create training materials, including curriculum outlines and e-learning modules and ensure that they are organized, up to date, and accessible to all employees

Business Development Manager

Regional law firm Parsons Behle & Latimer (Parsons or Firm) is seeking a strong and dynamic business development leader to join the Firm in support of its more than 200 attorneys in 11 offices throughout five states in the Intermountain West.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for implementing and creating business development initiatives that will expand existing client relationships, attract new clients, build the Firm’s profile and strengthen its reputation. The BDM will work closely with members of the business development and marketing team, attorneys, and the Firm’s leadership to advance Parsons’ strategic business development priorities. The BDM reports directly to the Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) who is responsible for the Firm’s business development and marketing initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership and delivery of regional and national business development activities, including driving strategic initiatives designed to maintain, increase, and in some instances, enter new markets and industry sectors.
  • Work with and provide support to the CBDO, Department Heads and Office Managing Shareholders on targeted business development initiatives.
  • In collaboration with the CBDO, coach and train associate attorneys regarding business development, marketing strategies and best practices through the Firm’s Associate Business Development & Marketing Initiative.
  • Work with the CBDO to develop a targeted cross-selling program between departments and offices.
  • Work with the CBDO to enhance the Firm’s client service program, including an “onboarding welcome experience,” client interviews, client feedback surveys, and a formalized process for issuing thank you communications at the conclusion of matters.
  • Work with and assist the Marketing and Communications Director with the creation of targeted, well-written marketing materials, competitive intelligence and associated research, and the submission of RFPs, pitches, and presentation materials.
  • Conduct market analysis, industry and competitive intelligence research reports in support of new business development opportunities.
  • Serve as front-line project manager on incoming business development projects from conception to completion to ensure efficiency, quality and timely delivery.
  • Manage logistics associated with Firm-hosted and sponsored events for assigned departments while collaborating with the BD and marketing team and attorneys to ensure events are leveraged for building new and strengthening existing client relationships.
  • Play a key role in lateral attorney onboarding and integration, including drafting lateral integration plans and working with multiple practice groups to get the lateral attorneys on-boarded as quickly as possible.
  • Collaborate with the CBDO, Marketing and Communications Director, office managing shareholders, and Firm leadership to increase Parsons’ visibility and reputation throughout its geographic footprint via potential sponsorships, targeted events, organization/trade association memberships, and awards and recognitions.
  • Plan and execute targeted conferences, client development events, webinars and other Firm-hosted events while serving as the Firm’s representative.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Director on submissions for Chambers USA and other relevant ranking programs as assigned.
  • Work with the CBDO and Marketing and Communications director to prepare the Firm’s annual business development and marketing budget.
  • Other business development and client service duties as assigned. 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with seven or more years of business development or sales experience in the legal industry or a professional services firm.
  • Proven ability to build relationships both internally with attorneys and professional staff, and externally with clients, prospective clients, trade associations and community partners.
  • Proven track record of developing and administering successful business development and client service programs.
  • Consistently demonstrate a strong customer service orientation and attitude both within and outside of the Firm.
  • Ability to work in both a strong team-based environment and independently.
  • Strong strategy development, critical thinking, creativity, writing and general business skills, as well as excellent managerial and communication skills.
  • Proactive self-starter who needs minimal supervision and is highly motivated to exceed expectations.

Compensation & Benefits
